Qantas Airlines Travel Classes

Passengers have 5 cabin classes and fares to choose from:

  • Economy Class - streamlined check-in process, set menu, in-flight entertainment system with moves, series, documentaries and music. Also included is an amenity kit with eye mask, ear phones, socks and a dental kit.
  • Premium Economy Class - dedicated check-in counters, more space, dedicated cabin crew, extra leg room, wider seats, noise cancelling headphones and an amenity kit with eye mask, ear phones, and dental kit.
  • International Business Class - priority check-in, wide seats that recline into fully flat beds, soft pillow and blanket, inflight movies, series, and documentaries, an extensive menu, fine wines and beverages.
  • Business Class - priority check-in, reclining seats (into flatbed), in-seat massage, 100% cotton bedding, small and main plate dining, full formal dining, award-winning wines and bubbly, amenity kit including hand cream, lip balm, face moisturizer, ear phones, eye mask, travel socks and dental kit (on selected flights). The in-flight entertainment includes a selection of magazines and newspapers, LCD TV, movies and series, as well as Wi-Fi, USB port, wireless printing.
  • First Class - priority boarding, expansive arm chair, in-seat massage, Sheridan bedding, restaurant-style dining, award-winning wines and bubbly, snacks and drinks available throughout the flight. Qantas Airlines Baggage Allowances

Qantas Airlines currently provides a baggage allowance calculator on their website that enables passengers to calculate how much luggage they can take with them based on their fare and chosen destination.

General rules still apply as follows:

  • No one piece of baggage can exceed 32 kg in weight.
  • Frequent Flyer members get bigger baggage allowances.

Economy class travellers are allowed 30 kg of checked luggage and one piece of hand luggage up to 7 kg for domestic flights and 10 kg for international flights.

Premium Economy class travellers are allowed 40 kg of checked luggage, and one piece of hand luggage up to 7 kg for domestic flights and 10 kg for international flights.

Business class travellers are allowed 2 pieces of luggage of up to 40 kg each, one piece of hand luggage up to 10 kg for domestic flights and 10 kg for international flights.

First class travellers are allowed 2 pieces of luggage of up to 50 kg one piece of hand luggage up to 10 kg for domestic flights and 10 kg for international flights.

The total dimensions of checked baggage may not exceed 158 cm.

Check-in for Qantas Airlines

Passengers must check-in for domestic Qantas flights 45 minutes before departure and for international flights, two (2) hours prior to departure. Passengers can choose to check-in in a variety of ways including:

  • Online
  • Via the airline's app (mobile check-in)
  • At an unmanned airport self-service kiosk
  • At an airport check-in counter

It is best to establish what check-in options are available at the airport you are flying from prior to the day of departure.
