The airline merged with Air France during 2004, however both the KLM and AIRFRANCE brands continue to operate as independent subsidiaries of Air France-KLM to this day. During 2010, Northwest Airlines merged with Delta Air Lines, ending the former's two decade alliance with KLM. During the same year, it was announced that Martinair would be incorporated into KLM. By the the end of the first quarter of 2010, KLM employed over 31,000 employees.By 2012, the airlines reached €9.473 billion per annum, with an operating income of €153 million.
By December 2013, the KLM Fleet of comprised primarily of a mix of Airbuses and Boeings, with an average aircraft age of 9 years. The fleet size is approximately 118 aircraft, excluding its subsidiaries' airplanes.
