Why should you book and fly with Kulula?

Kulula.com, often referred to as Kalula.com and misspelt as Khulula, is one of South Africa's foremost low cost carriers and a wholly owned subsidary of BA Franchisee Comair. Headquartered in Jozi, Kulula offers safety, security, comfort and one of the most tongue-in-cheek in-flight experiences available in South African skies.

The brand name means "easy" in Zulu, and their "full-on travel approach" has made them a household name among South African air travellers. Proudly South African, both the Kulula flight experience and their marketing and advertising centres on cheeky humour.

As per their slogal, Kulula loves to fly and aim to make their customers smile while flying too. Boasting a fleet of twelve boldly braned Boeing 737s, they have become a well loved South African travel brand over the course of the last decade. They're also one of the few South African low cost carriers to have survived the monopolistic behaviour of South African Airways and their subsidiary, Mango Airlines.

Kulula's local flight routes

Kulula Airlines regularly fly to most major South African airports, including Johannesburg, Lanseria, Durban, George, Port Elizabeth (PE), Cape Town, East London, as well as Zambia, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Mauritius.

What can you expect from the Kulula in-flight experience?

True to their naming origins, Kulula endeavours to keep everything easy and affordable.

Khuluma in flight magazine, a monthly glossy title, combined with audio channels and the flight attendants, take care of entertainment. With a view to keep their flight ticket prices as low as possible, meals and snacks are not complimentary. Woolworths snacks and drinks can be purchased in flight though. The airlline's seating features a comfortable 2,3,2 configuration.
